The story of how Church of God’s Word started. I was lying in bed one night, almost to sleep, and God put on me to do a bible study. I heard this down in my soul. I sat right up and thought, WHAT? So, I then started doing bible study in our home. We were doing Tuesday evening and Saturday morning. Around June of 2017, I was sitting on the couch waiting to go to work, I heard from God again. He told me to get ordained. This was the biggest surprise I have ever heard. I was excited and shocked at the same time. I called our pastor about this word from God. I was so excited he couldn’t understand some of what I was saying. The first plan I was to do an online class through a church we were partnered with. After 6 months it was clear that was not what I was to do. Due to this, I was ordained online. After I was ordained, I continued doing bible studies, and still do. Then our pastor asked me one day if I would like to do a service for him. He was going to be out of town. Oh, I was a nervous reck! But I did it and I was so happy that I did. I made and still make mistakes, and probably always will, (human as I am). Later on he asked me if I would like to do the tithing part of the service, for about 5 minutes. Again, I jumped and said yes. I realized then again, that was not me speaking. The Holy Spirit helped me jump at the opportunity and get those words out. No regrets to any of the yeses. I did several services after that. Not knowing at the time, I was being mentored by my pastor. As I am writing this, I have been hit by the Holy Spirt to the point, I can’t see the screen. Praise the Lord for the Holy Spirit. At this time, I realize this all started after my pastor baptized me in the lake, by our church, on 7/10/2016. Around the end of July, our pastor was led by the Lord to close our church and move to different state. He then informed me that God told him I was ready to be promoted! WOW! The first service we had was 8/30/2020. Our Pastor passed me the torch, so to speak, and moved that day, to their new home. He and his wonderful wife. Things were moving, amazingly, fast for me. If it didn’t, I may have chickened out. I was and still am so excited for the future of this church that God has stared. So, this church was official on 8/27/2020. Since we started, we have already done the Samaritan’s Purse, also known as shoe box for kids. We have partnered with Churches United in Moorhead, MN. These have been ideas, from the God loving people in our church. I want to thank Frank for all his mentoring that I didn’t even know was happening until the end. The things God waits to let us know until later. I also want to thank Frank and Patty, his wife, for all the support and for everything they did and continue to do. I also want to thank the board members for all they do to keep things running so smoothly, helping with ideas, camera, computers, and their support. I want to thank my husband Alan for being so supportive of all these changes that have happened in the last few years, as well as all his help. Thank you God for our Church
